Installation notes
-
The zipfile needs to be unpacked and the resulting files need to be placed in your endgame database directory, in the sub-directory 'drd2'.
If you have set everything to default setup, then this will be in one of the following directories:
C:\Program Files (x86)\MDG Software\Dragon Dammen\Endgame\Drd2 C:\Program Files\MDG Software\Dragon Dammen\Endgame\Drd2You may be asked to overwrite some of the files that are already present. After installation, you need to activate the databases through the databases setting, and then restart the program. How Dragon uses the endgame databases
-
Dragon can access the databases directory from disk, but also cache it in its memory. Reading a position from your harddisk is a slow process, and Dragon will only do this to lookup the current position
and maybe a few moves ahead.
To heavily use the databases during its search the databases must cached to memory. You need to configure Dragon to access the databses in this way through the settings of endgame databases menu.
